Mr.
Wat holds a Masters Degree in American Studies, with extensive experience
in strategic planning, organizational development, community assessment,
program planning and evaluation, and participatory action research.
His broad spectrum of experience includes training, technical assistance,
and consultation services on issues of at-risk youth, children’s
health, immigrants’ rights, HIV/AIDS, health disparities, mental
health, and cultural and linguistic competence.
Mr. Wat is fluent in Cantonese and a published author. He lectures
on community based research at UCLA, and the California State Universities
of Los Angeles and Long Beach. He has served the boards of several
Liberty Hill Foundation funds, and is currently Chair of the Asian
Pacific American Community Research Roundtable (APACRR). APACRR is
co-sponsored by a federation of over 30 nonprofit agencies, colleges
and universities to develop community based research collaborations.
