Dr.
Rooks is an applied cultural anthropologist who has more than twenty
years of experience in program development, administration and
evaluation. He has worked with nonprofit, community based agencies,
state agencies, policy and research institutes, and civil rights
law firms. He
specializes in research design and qualitative research methods.
Dr. Rooks served as a member of the National
Research Advisory Consortium (NRAC) for the White House Commission
on Asian Pacific Islanders, which consulted on health, mental health
and community health issues in Asian American and Pacific Islander
communities. He is a recognized expert
on multiracial issues, and has served on the boards of several nonprofit
agencies.
